Back in August I shot Jess and Chris’s wedding on a small island off the north coast of Wales. This was a really special wedding with the whole family pitching in to make this DIY wedding happen. I even got my hands dirty lugging some hay bales around and filling a bath with a ton of ice for the champagne.
Jess’s family own an alternative outdoor centre (funnily enough called Outdoor Alternative) set in one of the most picturesque areas of Wales. They had a big brass band, a cream tea reception, shisha tent and a huge marquee for dancing in the evening.
I was there from the day before pitching in with the preparations and taking photos, I managed to grab a bunk bed in one of the bunk houses around about midnight proving I’ll travel and sleep anywhere to photograph a perfect wedding.
A particular highlight for the guests was the ‘Whiskey Den’ – the woodshed was converted into a small drinking nook with the aid of a few pillows and lanterns.
